Adventures in Possum camp
Lisa and I watched over a few months as this young Brushtail possum emerged from Mum's pouch and started exploring the world. Despite visiting our camp without fail every trip neither were seen again after the devastating Ebor fires over Xmas of 2019. We sadly miss their antics. Music by the talented Roger Faynes.
Koala encounter near Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia.
An increasingly rare encounter with a friendly wild Koala! Like many of the arboreal animals of Eastern NSW their numbers have been absolutely decimated by the unprecedented ferocity of the last fire season. They need every bit of assistance we can afford them to see any sort of long term recovery. License this video from Jukin Media

Spotted-tailed or Tiger quoll - Dasyurus maculatus in 4K

Fraser island Dingo
Fraser Island dingoes are very special. ... There is estimated to be around 25 to 30 packs on the island, each containing 3 to 12 dingoes. On Fraser Island, the dingoes are at the very top of the island's food chain, which serves a vital role in the island's conservation.
Wild Eastern quolls - Dasyurus viverrinus - of Central Tasmania.
The size of a small domestic cat, it’s no wonder the Eastern quoll is a favourite marsupial of those lucky enough to see one. Nocturnal by nature, this bold carnivore usually hunts in open country or woodland. It can occasionally be spotted foraging by day but prefers to spend daylight hours in nests made under rocks in underground burrows or fallen logs. Eastern quolls have two colour morphs o...
Tiger quolls living wild and free on the Dorrigo Plateau in 4K.
Much of Australia's wildlife lead a quiet and mostly nocturnal life in our native forests. Tiger quolls are very adept at keeping well out of sight of humans despite sometimes living in close proximity. They prefer large tracts of unbroken forest and have very large territories. The majority of the human population would not even notice if they passed into extinction like so many Australian spe...

Northern brown bandicoot (Isoodon macrourus)
Once found throughout coastal NSW and north to Cape York the Northern Brown Bandicoot is now extinct in parts of Queensland and northern NSW. The main threats to bandicoots are habitat loss from urbanisation and land-clearing, predation from foxes, cats and dogs, and collisions with vehicles. (Native predators include snakes, owls, quolls and dingoes.) Intense wildfires, or too frequent burning...
Spotted-tailed quoll or Bindjulang of Northern NSW in 4K
In just a few short months from my last Spotted-tailed quoll (Dasyurus maculatus) episode you can see a noticeable increase in the number of scars and battle wounds on this beautiful young female ST quoll. It all goes to show what a tough life they have making a living out there in the Australian bush and explains their relatively short lifespan. They are such a uniquely Australian animal and d...

I was a City Boy until my early 20's and I never really got to see too much, other than concrete and buildings. I never realized how damn beautiful nature in general is, until I moved up to New Hampshire in the US. Seeing stuff like this makes me wish that my life had taken a different path in some ways but at least we have guys like Brett to show us all what Mother Nature has created. Cool Stuff indeed !!!
